Coronavirus Update: Beaches and Trails Closed in the US Virgin Islands

We regret to announce, all beaches in the territory are currently closed. According to the announcement made by Governor Bryan yesterday, this measure is to help curb spreading of the pandemic Coronavirus COVID-19. The closure is in effect until April 20th 2020, and includes all beaches, parking lots and trails,

The governor, declared the territory in a state of emergency March 13th,2020 and has proceeded to mandate all non-essential businesses closed along with limited government operations. Transportation between St. Thomas and St. John has also changed. All ferries and barges are operating on a limited schedule.

The main concern, according to Governor Bryan; is that the rate of infections of the virus could peak in the next coming weeks,”between April 24th and May 14th”.

There is a ban on offering accommodations for travelers until April 30th, and we will stay updated to keep you informed. We urge all of our family, friends and of course our guests, to stay safe during this very difficult time. We are hopeful and we look forward to the days ahead. Let’s work together, so that we can all hope to enjoy the beauty of the Virgin Islands together again soon.
